What to feed

We stress the importance of using a good quality dog food for your new puppy. You are investing a lot of time and money into your new addition and what you choose for food is vital. Your puppy has been weened to Puppy Farmina Lamb, blueberry, pumpkin food. We highly recommend continuing with this food for at least a month. Changing a puppy's diet can lead to belly issues.  When heading home, the puppies will then be eating 1+1/4 cup of this food. We recommend adding water to the kibble every time to slightly soften and ease eating/digestion (we still do this ..LOL!!). Most new puppies eat about 3 times a day. Theses babies are growing, FEED THEM!!! lol We know this isn't alway practical, so just use this as a guideline and review with your vet. We get our food at Concord Pet . ** We also recommend adding a probiotic. We use ProBios. If you do decide to switch food brands, please use the 9 day rule . Increase the amount of new food mixed with the old food by 1/4 every 3 days. Days 1-3 would be 1/4 new food, days 4-6 would be 1/2 new food, days 7-9 would be 3/4 new food, and day 10 would be all new food. We love to add baked sweet potatoes to our dogs food: this will act like a binder and help during the switching process (we never use rice).
